Scored goal in his first NHL game. The goal, which was also the first of Los Angeles' 1983-84 season, beat Minnesota goaltender Gilles Meloche at 2:05 of the first period, giving Kings a 1-0 lead in a game that ended in 3-3 tie. It was Laforest's only NHL goal. ... Traded by Los Angeles to Boston in exchange for Marco Baron on Jan. 3, 1984, but never played for parent team.
