1985-86: Played 24 regular-season games for Montreal team that went on to win Stanley Cup, but missed playoffs due to injury. As a result, he did not qualify to have his name engraved on Cup, even though he was technically on the roster for the entire postseason.
Miscellaneous: Played on line with Brian Skrudland and Mike McPhee for Montreal in 1985-86. ... Missed remainder of 1985-86 regular season and entire 1986 playoffs with torn ligament in left knee, suffered when he collided with Michael Thelven during Montreal's Dec. 5, 1985, game vs. Boston. The injury required season-ending surgery. ... Missed part of 1987-88 season with deep cut on right leg, an injury suffered in post-game brawl during Boston's Feb. 17, 1988, game vs. Montreal. ... Missed part of 1988-89 season with hairline fracture of right ankle, suffered in a Nov. 12, 1988, accident on the street outside his home. Embarrassed about the accident, he initially said he hurt it during a morning skate before St. Louis' Nov. 12, 1988, game vs. Quebec. He then claimed he hurt it while walking from the press box to the dressing room after that game. He did not return to action until St. Louis' Dec. 15, 1988, game vs. Hartford. ... Missed part of 1991-92 season with separated shoulder, suffered during Vancouver's Dec. 3, 1991, game at Quebec. He did not return to action until Vancouver's Feb. 1, 1992, game vs. Hartford. ... Missed part of 1993-94 season with sprained left knee, suffered in Vancouver's Nov. 29, 1993, game vs. Chicago. He did not return to action until Vancouver's Dec. 28, 1993, game at Los Angeles. ... Suspended by NHL for two games and fined $500 for swinging his stick at Joe Kocur late in third period of Vancouver's March 25, 1994, game vs. N.Y. Rangers. Momesso, given match penalty for attempting to injure Kocur, had retaliated for a similar slash by Kocur, who was angry at Momesso for giving Kevin Lowe a concussion earlier in game. The suspension was announced on March 28, 1995. ... Never missed playoffs during his NHL career.
