Missed remainder of 1986-87 season with torn MCL and ACL in right knee, an injury suffered during Minnesota's Oct. 18, 1986, game vs. Minnesota-Duluth. Although Okerlund finished the game, he required major season-ending surgery to repair the injury on Oct. 19, 1986. Chronic pain in the knee plagued him for the rest of his career and forced his retirement prior to N.Y. Islanders' 1988 training camp. ... Followed in his father's footsteps by producing and hosting series of "Best of AWA" wrestling videotapes after his retirement.
