Played seven regular-season games for Boston team that went to 1988 Stanley Cup Finals, but was not with team in playoffs.
Miscellaneous: Scored his first NHL goal during Vancouver's Feb. 29, 1984, game at Pittsburgh. The goal came on an assist by Patrik Sundstrom, who set Vancouver franchise record with seven points in that game. ... Played on line with Peter McNab and Cam Neely for Vancouver in 1984-85. ... Missed remainder of 1984-85 season with torn ligaments in left knee, an injury suffered when he crashed into a goalpost during Vancouver's Oct. 23, 1984, game vs. N.Y. Islanders.

HOW HE GOT AWAY
FREE AGENCY: Hall played out his contract with Vancouver in 1986-87 and became an unrestricted free agent when the Canucks did not offer him a new contract. He signed with Boston in July 1987.
