Miscellaneous: Scored goal in first NHL game. The goal, at 6:15 of the third period, beat Quebec goalie Dan Bouchard and was Chicago's only goal in an 8-1 loss to Nordiques. ... Was often confused with former junior teammate Steve Larmer, during his early years in Chicago. Ludzik's rookie hockey card depicted Larmer, while Larmer's depicted Ludzik. ... The incident took place after Ludzik hit Poeschek with a high stick when the two accidentally collided during warmups. ... Took job as Mississauga (OHL) coach because of his close friendship with former junior teammate Nick Ricci, who had purchased the team. Left team after failing to agree on contract terms with new owner Mario Forgione, who bought team from Ricci two months earlier on Feb. 2003.

HOW HE GOT AWAY
TRADE: Chicago sent Ludzik and a return of Buffalo's 1990 sixth-round pick (Derek Edgerly) to Buffalo to complete a September 28, 1989, deal in which Buffalo traded Jacques Cloutier to Chicago for future considerations. Ludzik, and the return of Buffalo's 1990 sixth-rounder in exchange for return of Chicago's 1990 fifth-round pick (Todd Bojcun), fulfilled the deal's future considerations on September 29, 1989.
