Miscellaneous: Played in third World Junior Championships in Finland, an unofficial tournament that helped set stage for first official World Juniors in 1977. ... Was on Sherbrooke (QMJHL) team that endured tragic bus accident in November 1974. The accident claimed the life of Chicoine's linemate, Gaetan Paradis. Chicoine was the first person to discover Paradis' body pinned under the bus.

FRANCHISE FOLDED: Chicoine was on the Cleveland team that folded after the 1977-78 season and merged with Minnesota. His rights reverted to Minnesota after no other team claimed him in the 1978 Cleveland-Minnesota Dispersal Draft.
