Personal: Full name is Kimbel Gerald Clackson.
HOW HE GOT AWAY
WHA/FREE AGENT COMPENSATION: Clackson did not join Pittsburgh after the draft, instead signing to play in the WHA. When the NHL and WHA merged in 1979, Pittsburgh regained Clackson's rights in the NHL Reclaim Draft on June 9, 1979. Just over a year later, Pittsburgh sent Clackson to Quebec on August 7, 1980, as compensation for the signing of restricted free agent Paul Baxter.
