1977. ... Left unprotected by Pittsburgh for 1979 NHL Expansion Draft.
Although he had
retired one year earlier, Pittsburgh still owned his NHL rights. Edmonton claimed him on June 13,
1979, but he never returned to the NHL. |

| HOW HE GOT AWAY |
| WHA/FREE AGENCY: Unlike other draft picks, who
snubbed the NHL to join the WHA, Edur was already in the WHA when Boston
selected him. When Cleveland (WHA) coach John Wilson got the head coaching job
in Colorado (NHL), he pushed for the Rockies to acquire Edur. Boston sold his NHL
rights to Colorado on Sept. 7, 1976, prompting him to enter the NHL by signing
with the Rockies. |
