HOW HE GOT AWAY
WHA/FREE AGENCY: Unlike other draft picks, who snubbed the NHL to join the WHA, Edur was already in the WHA when Boston selected him. When Cleveland (WHA) coach John Wilson got the head coaching job in Colorado (NHL), he pushed for the Rockies to acquire Edur. Boston sold his NHL rights to Colorado on Sept. 7, 1976, prompting him to enter the NHL by signing with the Rockies.
