Missed end of 1974-75 season with broken left ankle, an injury he suffered in Washington's game vs. Philadelphia on March 18, 1975 --the same night in which he scored his first NHL goal against Philadelphia's Bernie Parent. ... Missed part of 1976-77 season with broken right leg. ... Left unprotected by Washington and claimed by Quebec in NHL Expansion Draft on June 13, 1979. ... Missed part of 1979-80 season with knee injury suffered in March 1980.

Miscellaneous:
Played on Houston (CHL) team that folded on Jan. 8, 1981. ... Missed part of 1980-81 season with torn rotator cuff, an injury suffered in December 1980 that also ended his career. ... Went into business of developing products for hockey fans after retirement, and in the early 1990s he created a system called "Fan Phone" that enabled fans to receive birthday and other special-event messages from their favorite sports stars. The product's "Gift Package" now includes greeting cards and e-mail as well as phone calls. Consolidated "Fan Phone" product into a company called ProWish in 1994, becoming its president and CEO. ProWish also does extensive charity work, raising money at benefits featuring sports stars.

TRADE: Detroit traded Stewart to Washington in exchange for Mike Bloom on March 9, 1975.
