1976-77
Miscellaneous: Missed start of 1973-74 season with hairline fracture in right foot. ... Broke neck while surfing in Hawaii in May 1974 and missed most of 1974-75 season recovering from surgery to repair two displaced vertebrae. ... Had further neck fusion surgery in April 1975. ... Named NHL Player of the Week in 1976-77 season. ... Injured back in 1976 Pittsburgh training camp and had to undergo surgery for a ruptured spinal disc that caused him to miss start of 1977-78 season.
