PRE-DRAFT AWARDS AND HONORS
Miscellaneous:
Left the University of Pennsylvania after freshman year to turn pro. Ran into problems at Penn because other Ivy League coaches insisted his years in the OHA gave him semi-pro status and therefore made him ineligible to play in Ivy League. Dispute over his eligibility carried on through season and he never played at Penn. The experience of going to college was a positive one, however, and many years later he vehemently insisted that his own son play college hockey at Maine instead of going into major junior.
NHL CAREER
Never played in NHL.
