Daily 2018 Draft Prospect Updates

PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Another quiet day in draft-prospect land on Wednesday. Virtually all of the European-based prospects are done with their seasons, although many are bound for the upcoming World Under-18 Championship tournament in Russia.

Fortunately, Wednesday brought up some major-junior playoff games, as well as more games from the endless USHL regular-season. It's ironic that the USHL playoffs begin after the NHL's playoffs, which is why the Clark Cup gets awarded at roughly the same time as the Stanley Cup. In any case, only three players made the list of top performances from Wednesday. Take a look:

Stars of the Night

JEREMY DAVIDSON -- The Massachusetts-Amherst recruit continued his late-season surge in the USHL, scoring two goals in Central Illinois' 6-3 loss at Madison. Davidson, a rookie from Schoolcraft, Mich. who played at high school hockey powerhouse Shattuck-St. Mary's before going to junior, opened the scoring at 5:43 of the first period and scored again at 9:41 of the third to trim Madison's lead to 4-3. That gave him back-to-back two-goal games after having gone 56 games without scoring more than one. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)

LUKE HENMAN -- Henman erupted for two goals and an assist in Blainville-Boisbriand's 5-4 loss at Moncton. It was the first multi-point playoff game of his QMJHL career. He scored on a power-play at 12:08 of the opening period to cut the lead to 2-1. He scored another power-play goal seven minutes later at 19:22, tying the score 2-2. He closed his point parade with an assist at 12:12 of the second, helping the Armada go up 4-3. Henman now has three goals and eight points in six playoff games. He has scored at least one point in all six games. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)

BEN KRAWS -- Kraws, who will play college hockey at Miami University, had a 32-save shutout in Sioux City's 6-0 win at Sioux Falls. The game's No. 1 star stopped eight shots in the first period, 13 in the second, and 11 in the third for his second shutout of the USHL season. A backup goalie, Kraws was making his first start since March 23 and recorded his first win since March 18. (Note: Third appearance on this list in 2017-18)
