Daily 2018 Draft Prospect Updates

PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

On the final day of the NHL regular-season, there wasn't much action involving draft prospects. Only two major junior games took place in the OHL, and there was minimalf Tier II action. Three players made the top-performances cut for Sunday.

In any event, there are now fans of 16 NHL teams with nothing to look forward to apart from the draft lottery and draft day itself. That means these people have all the time in the world to browse through the hundreds of players on this site and come up with their own lists of best picks for each round. Have fun with that, and get started by having a look at Sunday's best:

Stars of the Night

JACOB BERNARD-DOCKER -- The Okotoks Oilers beat the Brooks Bandits 4-1 to capture the AJHL South crown on the road, and Bernard-Docker is a big part of the reason this team is headed to its first AJHL championship series. The highly-talented defenseman, who will play college hockey at North Dakota beginning in 2019, scored a goal and added two assists in the win. His goal opened the scoring at 18:35 of the first period, and his two rapid-fire assists in the second -- at 6:17 and 7:54 -- stretched the lead to 3-0. Through 10 playoff games, Bernard-Docker has four goals and 11 points, including a four-game point streak. (Note: Ninth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

RILEY DAMIANI -- Damiani had a goal, an assist and five shots in net in Kitchener's 3-2 OT loss to Sarnia. He scored the OHL second-round playoff game's first goal at 4:54 of the second period and had the primary assist on the power-play goal at 11:26 of the third that forced overtime. It was the fourth multi-point playoff performance for the surging Damiani, who has four goals and 10 points in eight postseason games. (Note: Sixth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

LINUS NYMAN -- OK, he's small, but it's still hard to believe that Nyman wasn't drafted in 2017, given the kind of season he has had this year. He continued his playoff scoring with a goal and assist in Kingston's 4-2 win over Barrie, earning No. 2 star honors. Nyman, a Finnish import, scored on a power play at 9:34 of the first period for a 2-0 lead and assisted on the game-winner that broke a 2-2 tie at 11:47 of the third. Barrie still leads the series 2-1, and Nyman has five goals and 10 points in eight playoff games. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)
