Stars of the Night

MICHAEL PASTUJOV -- Pastujov, a University of Michigan freshman who was passed over in last year's NHL draft, scored a goal on five shots in the Wolverines' NCAA Frozen Four semifinal loss to Notre Dame. It looked like his third-period tying goal would make him the hero until the Fighting Irish stunned Michigan for the winning goal with only six seconds left in the game. Pastujov, skating on a line with his older brother Nick, pulled Michigan into a 3-3 tie with 5:02 left in regulation, and overtime appeared imminent until Notre Dame pulled out the remarkable 4-3 win. A Florida native, Pastujov was part of the of the U.S. NTDP program for two seasons before entering college. He finished his first NCAA season with five goals and nine points in 21 games. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)
