PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates.

So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

JACOB BERNARD-DOCKER -- Okotoks defenseman Bernard-Docker had a goal and an assist in the Oilers' 5-4 triple-OT win at Brooks -- a victory that evened the AJHL South final at 2-2. Bernard-Docker opened the scoring just 45 seconds into the first period and assisted on the game-winner at 9:23 of the third overtime. The North Dakota recruit has scored in back-to-back playoff games. (Note: Eighth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

MATEJ BLUMEL -- Blumel, a Connecticut recruit, scored a goal and added two assists for No. 3 star honors in Waterloo's 4-3 win over Sioux City. He opened the scoring 22 seconds into the game, picked up the primary assist on a goal at 11:21 of the second period that cut the Musketeers' lead to 3-2, and had another primary helper on the game-winner at 14:01 of the third. He now has a three-game USHL point streak with goals in back-to-back games. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)

NIKOLAI KOVALENKO -- With three assists in Yaroslavl's 4-0 MHL semifinal-round win over Nizhnekamsk, Kovalenko remained a passing whiz. The son of former NHLer Andrei Kovalenko had an assist in each period. The first was the lone helper on the game's first (and winning) goal at 14:14 of the opening period. He later assisted on goals at 19:52 of the second and 19:10 of the third. Through six MHL playoff games, Kovalenko had seven assists. (Note: Fifth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

JEREMY McKENNA -- McKenna was passed over in the 2017 draft, but it probably won't happen again after his performance this season. In Game 7 of a first-round QMJHL playoff series, McKenna had four assists to propel Moncton to a 6-3 win at Rimouski. His assists came at 18:12 of the first period to make it 2-1, at 19:49 of the first to go up 3-1, on the game-winner at 7:26 of the second, and on a goal at 19:06 of the third. During the regular season, he had 77 points in 68 games.

JAKUB SKAREK -- Skarek, playing in the relegation round of the Czech Extraliga, is trying to keep Jihlava from slipping out of the country's top league. Making his first start since March 4, he held his own with 33 saves in a 4-2 win at Litvinov -- stopping 14 shots in the first period, eight in the second, and 11 in the third. (Note: Seventh appearance on this list in 2017-18)
