PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates.

So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

COLE FONSTAD -- Fonstad scored a pair of goals in Prince Albert's 5-4 win over Moose Jaw, forcing a Game 7 in the teams' first-round WHL playoff series. The No. 3 star got his first goal to open the scoring at 7:34 of the first period and scored the game-winner to break a 4-4 tie at 11:34 of the third. Fonstad has been stellar throughout the series, having been a three-star selection in three of the first six games. (Note: 11th appearance on this list in 2017-18)

GABRIEL SEGER -- A big center at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Sweden's Seger has to be attractive the NHL scouts. He gave them a taste of his play-making ability with three assists as Vaxjo beat Orebro 6-3 in the Swedish U20 semifinals. All three assists were primary helpers. The first, on a power-play goal at 2:07 of the second period, cut the lead to 2-1. The second, also on a power play two minutes later at 4:22, tied the game at 2-2. His final assist came on the empty-netter that closed the scoring. Seger has five assists in his last two playoff games. (Note: Fourth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

ANDREI SVECHNIKOV -- The projected No. 2 overall pick dominated Barrie's 8-2 playoff win at Mississauga, as the Colts won the series in seven games. Svechnikov finished with two goals and three assists, beginning with the primary assist on his team's first goal at 11:08 of the second period to cut the lead to 2-1. He erupted for four points in the runaway third, beginning with an unassisted goal at 3:20 for a 4-2 lead. He followed that with another goal at 10:07 and also set up power-play goals at 10:59 and 15:28, stretching the lead to 7-2. This was only his second game back from a four-game suspension, and his return gave Barrie a huge lift. (Note: 22nd appearance on this list in 2017-18 -- tied for overall lead)
