PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates. So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

JUSTUS ANNUNEN -- Finland's hottest junior goalie kept rolling with 32 saves in Oulu's 4-1 U20 playoff series-clinching win over Helsinki IFK. The victory lifted him to 6-0-1 in the postseason with two shutouts and five consecutive victories. Annunen stopped all six shots in the first period, 13 of 14 in the second, and all 12 in the third. (Note: 13th appearance on this list in 2017-18)

SHAW BOOMHOWER -- Not known for his scoring, 19-year-old Boomhower made his mark with two goals in Ottawa's 5-4 OHL playoff win at Hamilton and was named the game's No. 1 star. Boomhower scored at 9:28 of the first period for a 1-1 tie and at 3:58 of the third for a 2-1 lead. These were his first playoff goals in 2018.

ELIJAH BROWN -- Brown was the No. 2 star of Medicine Hat's 7-3 WHL playoff win over Brandon after scoring a goal and assisting on two others. His first assist, at 11:19 of the opening period, helped open up a 2-0 lead. Only 47 seconds later, he notched the primary helper on a power-play goal to go up 3-0. He scored his own man-advantage goal with 3:07 left in the second period, bumping the lead up to 5-1. The Tigers lead the series 2-0. (Note: Third appearance on this list in 2017-18)

ETHAN de JONG -- The No. 1 star of the Prince George Spruce Kings' 4-0 Game 7 win over Surrey, de Jong had two goals and an assist. His goals came at 3:35 of the first period for a 1-0 lead and 17:13 of the third to make it 2-0. He also set up an empty-netter, giving him points in 10 of 14 BCHL playoff games. (Note: Third appearance on this list in 2017-18)

LINUS NYMAN -- Kingston's Finnish import was sharp with two goals in a 4-3 playoff win over North Bay. Nyman, who turns 19 in July, notched the game's first goal on a power play at 9:32 of the opening period and scored again to make it 2-0 just over eight minutes later. That gave him points in six straight OHL games, including two in the postseason.
