PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates.

So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

RASMUS DAHLIN -- The top-ranked draft prospect scored a goal and an assist for Gothenburg in a 5-4 SHL playoff win at Malmo. Swedish superstar defenseman Dahlin assisted on a goal at 5:31 of the second period for a 2-2 tie and scored the dramatic game-winner to snap a 4-4 tie with 2:14 left in the third period. These were his first playoff points on 2018, coming in his second postseason game. (Note: 11th appearance on this list in 2017-18)

DAVID GUSTAFSSON -- One of only two first-year draft-eligible forwards who spent the whole season in the SHL, Gustafsson became an instant force for Jonkoping's top junior team in the Swedish U20 playoffs, picking up three assists in the 6-4 quarterfinal-opening win at Gothenburg. All three were primary helpers -- one per period. The first assist came on the first goal at 13:31 of the opening period. He then had the lone assist on the game-winner for a 5-3 lead at 14:32 of the second and another lone assist on an empty-netter with three seconds left in the third. That gave him four points over his first two U20 playoff games. (Note: Fourth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

VITALI KRAVTSOV -- The KHL's lone first-year-eligible KHL draft prospect remained hot with two assists in Chelyabinsk's 4-1 win over Ufa. He got the primary assist on the opening goal at 8:01 of the first period and later assisted on a goal at 14:30 of the second to make it 3-1. That gave him a five-game scoring streak. In 35 regular-season games, he had four goals and seven points. In 11 playoff games, he has six goals and 11 points. (Note: Sixth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

DEREK SEGUIN -- This NOJHL star might not get drafted due to his low profile, but his three goals and one assist in Timmins' 6-3 playoff win over Powassan can't hurt. The game's No. 1 star scored an unassisted short-handed goal at 14:36 of the second period for a 2-2 tie. He then scored the game-winner on a power play to make it 4-2 at 9:40 of the third, got the lone assist on a goal at 17:12, and found the empty net at 17:58. That gave him a three-game goal streak and six goals in six playoff games.

CARL WASSENIUS -- Wassenius helped get Orebro off to a strong start in the Swedish U20 quarterfinals with a goal and two assists in the second period of a 6-2 win over Gavle. He had the primary helper to tie it 1-1 at 10:44. He then set up another goal on a power play at 18:42 to make it 2-1 before delivering the game-winner on a power play at 19:40. The three points stretched his scoring streak to nine games, including all four in the playoffs. (Note: Fourth appearance on this list in 2017-18)
