PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

No 2018 draft prospects did anything of note on this particular Tuesday, so it's time for a special player feature. The spotlight this week falls on Boston University forward Brady Tkachuk, a likely top-5 pick.

Tkachuk has made a great impression in his first NCAA season with the Terriers. Through the 2018 Hockey East tournament -- heading into the NCAA tourney -- Tkachuk had scored eight goals and recorded 21 assists for 29 points in 38 games. Among his Boston University recruiting class, Tkachuk ranked second in scoring -- right behind 2017 Ottawa Senators first-round pick Shane Bowers. That's pretty good company.

Of course, Tkachuk made his biggest splash at the 2018 World Junior Championship tournament in Buffalo, where he tied for fifth in scoring with three goals and six assists in seven games for Team USA. A graduate of the U.S. NTDP program and the son of former NHL star Keith Tkachuk, Brady has all the tools to be an outstanding NHL player, following in the footsteps of his older brother Matthew of the Calgary Flames.

What makes him stand out is his tremendous will to win and competitiveness. He scores key goals, often sparking his team. Check out this video that shows five of his tallies from his first collegiate season at BU:
