PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates.

So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

ETHAN de JONG -- The 19-year-old Quinnipiac recruit scored two third-period goals in the Prince George Spruce Kings' 3-1 playoff win over Chilliwack to earn No. 1 star honors. His first goal, scored at 11:02 , pulled Prince George into a 1-1 tie. He later delivered an empty-netter to close the scoring at 19:38. Through seven BCHL playoff games, de Jong had four goals.

ALBIN ERIKSSON -- Red-hot Eriksson closed out Sweden's J20 SuperElit regular season with a pair of goals in Skelleftea's 3-0 win over Vasteras -- giving him three straight multi-point games. His first goal stretched an early lead to 2-0 on a power play at 18:16 of the opening period, and he closed the scoring at 1:36 of the third. (Note: Fourth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

MARSHALL FRAPPIER -- Sudbury's backup goaltender turned in a masterful shutout with 27 saves in a 4-0 win over Peterborough. The game's No. 1 star stopped all 16 shots in the first, six in the second, and five in the third. It marked his second straight win and his first OHL shutout. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)

OLOF LINDBOM -- One of the top Swedish goalies in the draft pool, Lindbom ended his regular season on a high note for Stockholm Djugardens' Under-20 team -- making 26 saves in a 2-1 OT win over Gavle. After giving up an early goal, he ended the game with 57:59 of shutout hockey, stopping all three shots in overtime. It was his first win since a Jan. 12 shutout. TYLER MADDEN -- Madden, a Northeastern recruit, scored a goal and chipped in two assists as the No. 2 star of Tri-City's 9-5 loss to the U.S. NTDP Under-18 Team. All three points came in the third period, beginning with a power-play assist at 1:14. He followed with a goal at 7:46 and the primary assist on the game's final goal at 16:03. The three-point night gave him points in three of his last four USHL games. (Note: Third appearance on this list in 2017-18)

RYAN McLEOD -- McCleod was an easy choice for No. 1 star of Mississauga's 5-1 win at Ottawa after scoring two goals. The first one came short-handed at 14:42 of the first period to stretch the lead to 3-0. The second was scored even-strength at 16:48 of the middle period. Riding two-goal games in three of his last four OHL outings, McLeod reached a point-per-game average with 65 on the season. (Note: 12th appearance on this list in 2017-18)

AKIL THOMAS -- Thomas was in on all of Niagara's second-period goals during a 3-2 win over Windsor -- extending his point streak to four games. The No. 1 star started with an assist on the game's first goal at 2:17. He then picked up a primary assist to make it 2-0 at 5:11, and scored a power-play goal for a 3-0 lead at 17:04. SANTTU TOIVOMAKI -- Playing goal in the Finnish Under-18 league is a good way limit being noticed by scouts, but Turku's Toivomaki has put together really impressive performances, including his 33-save effort in a 4-1 win over Kuopio. He made all the difference in the second period, stopping 17 of 18 shots. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)

OLIVER WAHLSTROM -- Harvard recruit Wahlstrom, a likely top 10 pick in June, continued his point parade with a goal and two assists in the U.S. NTDP Under-18 team's 9-5 win at Tri-City. In the second period, he had a primary assist on a power-play goal that made it 6-1 and followed that up minutes later at 15:00 with his own power-play tally. He finished with another primary assist in he third period, lifting him to 37 points in 21 USHL game to rank second in the league in points-per-game average and extend his scoring streak to 11 games. LUKAS WERNBLOM -- Wernblom's three assists helped pace Ornskoldvik's Under-20 team to a 6-1 rout at Malmo in the regular season finale for both teams. His first assist was the lone helper on the eventual game-winner, giving MoDo a 2-0 lead at 10:13 of the second period. He went on to pick up another primary assist later in the second and a third on a power-play with 8:05 to go. He extended his U20 assist streak to four games.
