PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates.

So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

ELIJAH BROWN -- Brown was the No. 2 star of the game with a goal and two assists in Medicine Hat's 6-4 WHL win over Edmonton. His goal, scored at 16:36 of the opening period, pushed the Tigers' lead to 3-1. He assisted on the 4-2 goal in the second and had the primary assist on the game-winning power-play goal that snapped a 4-4 tie at 13:33 of the third. (Note: Second appearance on this list in 2017-18)

PAUL COTTER -- Lincoln's Cotter scored a goal and assisted on two more in the Stars' 4-2 win at Dubuque. Both of his assists were primary helpers -- on the game's first goal at 7:56 of the first period and the other to make it 2-1 in the second. Cotter closed his three-point night with a goal at 15:56 of the third, stretching the lead to 4-1. He extended his USHL point streak to 6 games, averaging two points-per-game over the span. (Note: Fifth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

KEVIN MANDOLESE -- Goaltender Mandolese made 44 saves to lead Cape Breton to a 4-3 OT win against visiting Charlottetown. The game's No. 2 star stopped all 12 shots in the first period, a remarkable 24 of 25 in the second, and eight of 10 in the third. It was his first QMJHL win since Feb. 10. (Note: Seventh appearance on this list in 2017-18)

TRISTEN NIELSEN -- Nielsen erupted for a hat trick and four points in Calgary's 5-4 OT win at Saskatoon and was an easy choice for No. 1 star honors. The 5-foot-9 center scored twice in the first period and saved his best for last -- delivering the game-winner at 1:58 of overtime. His second goal, which tied the game 3-3, came short-handed. This was Nielsen's first WHL hat trick and the four points were also a career-high. (Note: Sixth appearance on this list in 2017-18)

DMITRI ZAVGORODNY -- With two goals on five shots, Zavgorodny was the No. 1 star of Rimouski's 5-3 win over Baie-Comeau. The Russian import scored the dramatic game-winner at 13:30 of the third period to break a 3-3 tie. He also found an empty net with nine seconds to go for his 25th goal of the QMJHL season and his fifth two-point game in his last six outings. (Note: Seventh appearance on this list in 2017-18)
