PROSPECT-UPDATE ARCHIVE

Well, the Hockey Draft Central home office had a major power-outage in early March. The power came back after a few days, but it took weeks to catch up to the work of daily prospect updates.

So, in the spirit of moving along, check out abbreviated versions of each lost day's events:

Stars of the Night

ANGUS CROOKSHANK -- Crookshank, a University of New Hampshire recruit, scored a goal and recorded three assists in Langley's 8-5 BCHL playoff win over Surrey. His power-play tally at 5:16 of the second period broke a 2-2 tie. All three assists -- two of them primary helpers -- came in the third. He set up the game-winner for a 6-5 lead with 4:58 remaining. After failing to score in his first two playoff games, Crookshank posted points in three straight. (Note: Third appearance on this list in 2017-18)

RASMUS DAHLIN -- The superstar Swedish defenseman and consensus No. 1-ranked prospect scored the last of his seven SHL regular-season goals and picked up an assist in Gothenburg's 5-3 win at Karlskrona. Dahlin's goal closed the scoring at 17:48 of the third period. The goal was his first since Jan. 25. (Note: 10th appearance on this list in 2017-18)

NATE McDONALD -- McDonald, a goaltender headed for Cornell University, stopped 39 shots for Markham in a 1-0 OJHL playoff victory at Newmarket. His shutout included 12 saves in the first period, 14 in the second, and 13 in the third. After two hard-luck losses to open the playoffs, McDonald won two straight and had a .950 save percentage through those four postseason games. (Note: Third appearance on this list in 2017-18)

RYAN McLEOD -- The expected first-round pick erupted for two goals and two assists in Mississauga's 8-7 win at Peterborough. The game's No. 3 star also won 15 of 20 face-offs. McLeod's first goal cut the lead to 3-2 at 18:15 of the opening period, and his second pulled the Steelheads into a 6-6 tie at 1:09 of the third. The four-point performance snapped a five-game scoring drought. (Note: 11th appearance on this list in 2017-18)

ANDREI SVECHNIKOV -- It was yet another two-goal, three-point night for the Russian phenom in Barrie's 6-5 OT loss to Owen Sound. He scored his first goal at 8:21 of the second period to cut the Attack lead to 4-2. His other goal, scored 49 seconds into final period, tied the score 5-5. This was the third consecutive multi-point game for Svechnikov, extending his scoring streak to 19 games. (Note: 20th appearance on this list in 2017-18 -- tied for overall lead)
