HOW HE GOT AWAY
FREE AGENCY: Stevens played out his contract with Philadelphia in 1989-90 and became an unrestricted free agent. He signed with Hartford on July 16, 1990. Six years later, Philadelphia got Stevens back when he signed with the Flyers organization as an unrestricted free agent on July 10, 1996.
