HOW HE GOT AWAY
TRADE: Los Angeles traded Hardy to N.Y. Rangers in exchange for Ron Duguay on February 23, 1988. Five years later, Los Angeles got Hardy back when the Kings traded John McIntyre to N.Y. Rangers in exchange for Hardy and Ottawa's 1993 fifth-round pick (Frederick Beaubien) on March 22, 1993.
