PRE-DRAFT AWARDS AND HONORS
Miscellaneous:
Left Union College in December 1977 as a show of support for coach Ned Harkness, who had quit his job because he felt he was not treated fairly by the Union administrators. Harkness had been recruiting academically unqualified players with the permission of Union president Thomas Bonner, who wanted the team to be successful at all costs. However, Union officials embarrassed Harkness by putting four of his players on academic probation for their poor grades. Harkness responded by quitting as coach, and Feasby and other Union players quit the program in solidarity with Harkness. Union was forced to finish the season with JV players, and the incident led to Bonner's resignation.
