Career Beyond Hockey: Remained in Nova Scotia as a phys-ed instructor and hockey coach at St. Francis Xavier University from 1978 to 1982. He then began teaching in the public school system with a focus on math, accounting, and business education. He has taught students from Grades 7-12 at six different Nova Scotia schools, including Northeast Kings Education Centre, Cornwallis District High School, Kingstec Community College, Central Kings Rural High School, Bridgewater Junior/Senior High School, and Antigonish East Rural High School.
