After the Draft
- Went back to junior hockey and finished his
education instead of
signing with Detroit, which lost his rights after he played two
additional seasons with Winnipeg (WCHL). During this time, Los
Angeles placed him on its negotiating list, thereby claiming his
rights following his graduation from university in 1971.
- Served as Winnipeg
(WCHL) captain in 1970-71.
- Selected by
Winnipeg Jets in 1972 WHA General Player Draft, first draft in
league history, February 1972.
- Traded by Los
Angeles to N.Y. Rangers in exchange for Al Blanchard in March 1974.
- Played on 1974-75
Providence team that won AHL regular-season title.
- Led Winnipeg Hawks to Canadian Bantam AAA championship as head coach in
1992.
- Led St. James to back-to-back MJHL Turnbull Cup championships as head coach
and director of hockey operations in 1996 and 1997.
- Named to left wing position on the all-time Winnipeg Jets WCHL team by
Western Hockey League in 1999.
- Inducted into Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in the Builders category in 2013,
just
weeks
prior to his death.
