Transaction History

Jan. 21, 1971 -- Traded by Boston to Philadelphia in exchange for future considerations (Boston's trade of Rick MacLeish to Philadelphia for Mike Walton as part of three-way trade with Toronto on Jan. 31, 1971). Schock was sent to Philadelphia on the condition that Flyers would get Walton from Toronto and then trade him to Boston in a deal involving MacLeish.

Significant Injuries

Missed part of 1969-70 season with concussion suffered during Salt Lake's March 1, 1970, game at Seattle. ... Forced into retirement due to a series of injuries suffered in AHL from 1973 to 1975.

Selected by New England Whalers in 1972 WHA Draft, first-ever WHA Draft, February 1972. Called up to Boston when team expanded roster by one player for 1970 playoffs. Appeared in only one career playoff game -- and got his name on Stanley Cup as result. Played center for Philadelphia for much of his 14 games with Flyers in 1970-71.
Missed start of 1974-75 season holding out for better contract from Philadelphia organization. Finished third in AHL with a career-high 48 goals for Richmond in 1972-73. Spent summer of 1973 in Richmond selling advertising and season tickets for team. Came out of retirement to play one game for Richmond (SHL) during 1976-77 season.
